Who we are

Clark’s Exchange LLC is a women-owned, small business co-owned by mother and two daughters based out of Hillsville, VA. Their inspiration behind Clark’s Exchange is weaved by a family heritage of small business, the enduring and selfless love of a mother, and the strength of the people raised in the Appalachian Mountains. First opening for retail business in the Spring of 2023 as Clark’s Exchange on Main. The female-ran business is passionate about showcasing the skilled craftsman located in the Blue Ridge Mountains with a particular loyalty to products created by local residents.

 Small business and family business are deeply rooted in the co-owners of Clark’s Exchange. First being led by a women named Joan McMillian as she opened Century 21 Real Estate office in 1981. Her growth and success as a pioneer in women-owned business was then passed to her son who parallelled her diligence. For almost three decades, Century 21 conducted business out of 514 West Stuart Drive eventually expanding into Fancy Gap, VA. Now in the 21st Century, the real estate office no longer exists but the values of hard work and commitement to family first is the legacy that has lasted for generations and in large part inspiring their loyalty to community relationships.

For Dawn, Christin, and Tara, Clark’s Exchange is an extension of their home . They are committed to providing quality products and services, an in-persion shopping experience all at an affordable price. The team dynamic has a knack for finding unique designs whether bold, simple, antique, mid-century modern, art deco, or country chic—each piece is curated to accentuate personal style.
